At the start of the summer, legendary Jamaican saxophonist, Dean Fraser released a thirteen-track instrumental album titled, Flat Bridge. If you’re looking to slow down this weekend and groove while cooking with the family or working in the yard, you’ll definitely want to throw this album on! Dean is a reggae pioneer who has recorded hundreds of reggae songs over the years and collaborated with artists like Dennis Brown and Beres Hammond.

Jamaican artist Jah Vezl released a new single, If You Fi Know, to honor his empress earlier this year, and we are feeling the track’s vibe. West Coast reggae rockers, The Expendables have collaborated with East Coast reggae rockers, Ballyhoo! and the result is the awesome new album, The ExpendaHoo! The album, where the two bands cover each other’s fan favorite songs is supporting the bands’ tour that kicks off next week. The ExpendaHoo! was released by The Expendables / Right Coast Records with exclusive license to Ineffable Records.

Recording at Small World Recording Studio in Kingston, Jamaica, Junior Culture laid down his version of Rick Astley’s hit, Never Gonna Give You Up. Junior Culture’s reggae version, Never Gonna is catchy and brings a new sound and identity to the song.

Hawaii-based musician, Kelsey Matthew recently released his debut single, Reconnect with Me. The song has an old school R&B feel with an island music twist. Reconnect with Me is a beautiful love song that will inspire you to reminisce on your loved ones. Kelsey partnered with producer, Imua Garza at Zeo Music to bring the song to life.

TroyBoi has dropped his first reggae production teaming up with Jamaican dancehall artist Chris Marshall in the new song, GYAL. GYAL is a very fun dance song and it’s vibe definitely has us wanting to turn this one up during our next house party.

Hawaii-based musician, Dillon Pakele recently released a beautiful song about the importance of moving forward by starting your healing process. When you listen to Nothing Now you are taken aback by Dillon’s incredible voice, his thoughtful lyrics, and the beautiful music. We have been huge fans of SOJA for many years and whenever the band, stemming from Washington D.C., releases new music we jump at the chance to listen and take it all in. SOJA has been releasing new music all summer leading up to the band’s new album, Beauty In The Silence, which will be released September 24th via ATO Records. The band’s latest single, Reason To Live, is a beautiful song featuring Dirty Heads and Nanpa Básico with an important message about open-hearted perseverance. 

As the pandemic hit, the benefit and versatility of the digital music era became apparent to everyone in the music industry, as well as fans of reggae music with the release of Rebelution's stellar seventh studio album "In the Moment". Written and created in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, this album would not exist if it weren't for the ability for the members of Rebelution, all residing in different locations, to record at home and send audio files back and forth to bring these songs to fruition. The result is an album embodying the Rebelution sound we have become accustomed too, with the addition of blending alt-rock instrumentation, hip-hop rhythms, jazzy guitar lines, and a wide range of modern digital effects.

Reggae Vibes Music has dropped the irie Rock All Riddim featuring reggae stars Sizzla, Richie Spice, Lutan Fyah, Anthony B, and Turbulence. The American based roots label said in a release sent to Dailyreggae.com, “The Rock All Riddim has new music from Richie Spice, Snatcha Lion and Fiyaneer, who are all from the Rock Hall district in the hills of St. Andrew. It was Fiyaneer who suggested dropping the "H" and using "Rock All" to symbolize that reggae music is for all people. Hence the name Rock All Riddim.” We are loving the beautiful music, and listening to each artist’s unique spin on the riddim is a fun experience!
