The Movement release beautiful music video for the song Orange Sky shot in Colorado and Florida
Reggae rockers, The Movement, recently released a beautiful music video for their song Orange Sky. Formed in Columbia, South Carolina in 2003, The Movement brings amazing musical vibes and a unique reggae sound. Listening to Orange Sky while watching the video is a super cool experience.
Orange Sky is the fourth song on The Movement’s 2019 album, Ways Of The World. According to the band’s video post on YouTube, lead singer Joshua Swain, said, “This video was shot on tour at Great Dunes National Park in Colorado, and the Ocala National Forest near DeLand Florida.”
Swain goes on to add, “The footage was edited by Elizabeth Fowler, incorporating her own footage from work with National Geographic and more. Additional live footage courtesy of Global Extreme Media and Kyle Mackey. Music co-written with Amp Live and produced by Johnny Cosmic.”
Reflecting on the creation of Orange Sky in the post, Swain said, “I feel like this is the most poetic song on the record, and is subject to the most interpretation. It’s probably the hardest to understand and would take my explanation to get it. I wrote these lyrics on tour, in the van, driving through the desert in Arizona. I was marveling at the fact that, at one point in time, that desert was an ocean. The sky was an amazing hue of orange and I began writing a song very similar in theme to Ways of the World and Redwoodz - Time and space, and our existence in it is so incredible. Don’t waste your time here."
We are loving that message, Joshua! Another great reminder to take advantage of every moment in life.
It’s also super cool to hear about Joshua’s inspiration in writing Orange Sky and how he wrote the lyrics while on tour.
