Reggae star Alborosie shined and rising band F.Y.A.H. showcased their jamming sound on Sunday night at the House of Blues San Diego. A jam packed audience including many loyal Alborosie fans enjoyed an irie night of roots reggae music!

When you hear roots reggae, you instantly connect with an irie bass line, the lyrics standing up for people’s rights, and the sound of peace and love. Roots reggae remains strong in 2023 and we fell in love with some of these new LPs.

Time to get excited for the release of reggae legend Lee “Scratch” Perry’s album, “Destiny”. The album is due out on September 8 and was produced by the super talented Bob Riddim. Delicious Vinyl Island is set to release the album and the title track sounds so irie!

Italian reggae superstar Alborosie has been dropping amazing tracks for decades and the singer-songwriter’s latest album, “Destiny” is the culmination of Alborosie’s dedication to his craft. In the 14 track album, Alborosie brilliantly shines light on important societal issues over a mix of top reggae, rock and dancehall riddims. The instrumentation in “Destiny” is superb and I especially love the use of horns, the vibing drum patterns, and listening to Alborosie’s creative and thoughtful lyrics.

Cumbancha unites the beautiful music of Jamaica and Cuba in the release of “Mista Savona Presents Havana Meets Kingston Part 2”. While listening to the 15 track album, you’ll hear reggae, salsa, dancehall, and timba connected in dance friendly songs. The album follows up 2017’s “Havana Meets Kingston”.
