One Culture and Mellodose deliver a fresh sound and inspiration in “Ocean of Truth”

The beauty of today’s reggae genre is there are so many talented artists around the world and they are all innovating in unique ways.

At the same time, reggae boasts a unique spirit of collaboration and “Ocean of Truth”, the new 13 track album by One Culture and Mellodose is the perfect example of this in action.

I love this album for so many reasons. One Culture brings its strong reggae rock background and production to the new music and Mellodose’s unique vocals and passionate lyrics are heard on the perfect creative stage. Together these two up and comers deliver a stand out reggae album with catchy hooks, shredding guitar and styles that are different yet combined make sense together.

Here are five of my favorites in no particular order!

Ready to Live” is a standout track with a crisp reggae riddim and the song showcases the pitch perfect vocals of One Culture’s Kurt Jansohn. This song is inspirational and immediately picks you up to take on what stands in front of us. Mellodose delivers a powerful verse that brings so many feels and a complimentary perspective that adds thoughtful depth. The guitar work is super solid and adds nice dimension as well.

The duo change roles in “Spread Good Love” with Mellodose opening the track and leading the hook. It keeps the listener on its toes and I love the song’s positive message about prioritizing love.

Otherside” leans into Mellodose’s words before the guitar and track builds in a super cool way that adds suspense and layers to the song. Once Jansohn’s verse kicks in the listener is completely hooked. The song provides thoughtful motivation to find our passion and to dive in!

Chameleon” tells a story of being thankful and staying open to new roads ahead even when mental blocks stand in our way. The song has a jamming guitar solo that I’d love to see played live someday!

There are always ups and downs and waves can often knock us but One Culture and Mellodose supply listeners with the perspective to stand on their two feet in “Waves of Doubt”.

Thanks for giving us a push in the right direction guys! The duo’s music supplies an “Ocean of Truth” that worldwide reggae fans will connect with.
