Album Review: James Pasqua drops irie bass lines in “The Arcadia Sessions: A Dub Experience”
James Pasqua’s album, “The Arcadia Sessions: A Dub Experience” starts with the lively track, “Sunrise”.
I love Pasqua’s jamming bass line and the catchy drum pattern. The instrumentals are very relaxing and set an irie tone.
In “Fillmore” Pasqua loops in some nice dub effects and the reggae guitar will have you nodding your head as you go about your day.
“Love Stays” is one of my favorite songs on the album. Close your eyes and listen to the riddim, and you’ll especially love the drumming and snare effects.
Pasqua brings in more dub effects in “Orion” and you appreciate the musician’s expert bass line and the jam’s production.
Take a trip down “Ocean Ave”, an airy track with smooth reggae guitar highlighting Pasqua’s abilities to blend reggae and dub.
I really enjoyed the album’s vibe and appreciate Pasqua’s musicianship and production. It would be super fun to see these songs performed live and to hear a future collab album featuring artists singing along.
