Album Review: Keep it positive with “Blue Sky Moon” by Adam Almony
Adam Almony showcases his songwriting talent, guitar chops and positive mindset in the rocking new album, “Blue Sky Moon”.
Whether you’re starting your day fresh, unwinding after work, or biking with a beach view, you’ll enjoy Almony’s jams.
“Back To Good” sets the album’s feel good tone and teams Almony with good friend and reggae rock legend, Ballyhoo!’s Howi Spangler. It’s a really fun love song and Almony’s sound flows so naturally.
The bass line grooves in “Take it Slow”, a song about patiently finding your way into love. This would be a really fun song to hear live. Almony shreds on this one, which compliments the chill reggae guitar riddim.
Almony picks up the pace blending reggae and punk rock in “Don’t Blink”, a song about a breakup gone wrong. Once again I really like the guitar work and the artist’s ability to mix up the song’s pace.
“Ready for Love” throws some pop friendly music into the mix and some island vibes courtesy of the keys.
Cool down the pace and relax to Almony’s “Evey’s Song”, which highlights the artist’s vocal power and guitar strumming. This song has a very spiritual feel, and I totally dig it. Yoga classes need to play this asap!
Almony sings about navigating a windy road with dreams lying ahead in “Daydream”.
Any time you get Kash’d Out on a track, you know it’s going to be rad. I like the electronic effects on “Wind Me Up” and the catchy drum pattern.
Almony touches on a variety of life topics in the album including the ups and downs. He helps us find a silver lining in “Walk Away” and the message is inspiring. You can imagine this one being played on an acoustic guitar.
Speaking of acoustic guitar, Almony wraps the album with the thoughtful track “Just Breathe”. Another reminder to enjoy life and take the good and bad with a smile.
