HIRIE released her new album, “Mood Swing” today while elevating her star power to the next level! If you’ve ever been to an HIRIE concert you know that she and her band consistently bring some of the highest energy in the reggae scene and I absolutely think this is their best album yet. We all know mood swings! They come and they go and HIRIE is able to flawlessly cover a lot of ground/emotions in her simple yet powerful songwriting. I love how “Mood Swing” highlights HIRIE’s talent and sweet spot of reggae, rock and pop.

Speaking of amazing songwriting, HIRIE opens the album with the track “Diamond”. The song is very inspirational and I love the visual writing and message to find ways to grow and change for the better. HIRIE’s voice is gorgeous as are the saxaphone parts laid down by Chris Del Camino and bass line from Andy Flores.

Thief In The Night” is a sexy love song with a catchy hook and a hint of electronic music. Once again HIRIE does a great job blending genres and most importantly makes music that makes you want to dance the night away!

The album has several features and one my favorites is Matisyahu in the single “Blacklist”. The song reminds me that it’s good to have space and personal time even when meeting that special someone is tempting.

One of HIRIE’s secret sauce ingredients is the talented Blaine Dillinger and his grooving reggae guitar riddims. I’m feeling the guitar vibes in “Blast Soon” a new jam featuring Kabaka Pyramid.

Sway” will for sure get the dance floor hot! I love HIRIE’s vocal delivery and the vibe of this in your face with attitude and love track.

The dynamic pairing of HIRIE, ANORA, Chelley and Naomi Cowan is powerful! Turn up “Hello” and feel the good vibes all around you.

One of my favorite mood swing filled songs pairs HIRIE and Spragga Benz. “I Miss You” will mentally take you on a trip to the islands and at the same time have you reaching for love.

It takes time for an artist to find their voice but HIRIE is a natural star. “Mood Swing” is HIRIE’s best album yet because it transmits the energy of her live shows into 12 fun and dance friendly songs that you’ll want to play on repeat. I cannot wait to hear her and the band plays these tracks during their upcoming tour!
