Dailyreggae.com caught up with Easy Star Records CEO, Eric Smith, to discuss reggae’s global expansion since the ‘90s, the evolving role of running a record label, up-and-coming artist and management tips, and Easy Star’s talented roster of artists including Rebelution and Jesse Royal.

Ahead of their new album, Castles, which drops August 13, Boston-based reggae band, The Elovaters released Gardenia featuring Stick Figure. Gardenia is a really awesome song with an irie bass line and such a cool vibe! Wake up this morning by jamming to the single, which according to The Elovaters’ Facebook page was co-written with Stick Figure’s Scott Woodruff and frequent Stick Figure collaborator, TJ O'Neill.

In her song Dream Come True, Ana Vee sings, “You bring the sunshine on cloudy days” and her music does exactly that. We love the Hawaiin singer’s self-titled EP, Ana Vee, released in June 2021. Take a trip to the islands by listening to the five-song EP, and you’ll love her voice, catchy melodies, and the island reggae vibes.

Iya Terra released their new album, Ease & Grace, and we have been jamming out to it all weekend! Ease & Grace follows up the band’s 2019 album, Coming To Light, and beautifully showcases their incredible reggae riddims, shredding guitars, and songwriting. Ease & Grace features reggae superstars including Steel Pulse, Tribal Seeds, Stick Figure, Mike Love, and Alborosie.

Fortunate Youth always brings the good vibes and the band has released the title track to its upcoming album, Good Times (Roll On). The song has a contagious reggae riddim, vibing guitar strum, and a positive message to inspire good times.

Jemere Morgan dropped a fire new single, Minnie today featuring Uganda’s Triplets Ghetto Kids. The song was written by Jemere and MediSun, and produced by Dru Castro and Chunky Sounds. We are loving this song, especially Jemere’s voice, the horns, and catchy hook!

Pepper’s rocking drummer, Yesod Williams, has partnered up with Destroy A Drum in a cool new Groove Contest, where you submit your groove on Pepper’s song, The Phoenix! This week is the thirteenth birthday of Pepper’s Pink Crustaceans and Good Vibrations album, which was released in 2008. Visit Yesod’s Instagram page, where you’ll see all the entry details. Mellow Mood gives thanks in a cool new song called Blessings On Me!
