Joey Calderaio teamed up with Ballyhoo! in his latest song, Wave of Life, and we are loving the vibes. Joey is a talented songwriter and it’s awesome to see him collaborate with Ballyhoo! We love the song’s guitar hook, Joey and Howi’s smooth vocals, and the horns. Navigating life has its ups and downs and we know we’ll be blasting Wave of Life this summer. 

In Swahili, the word pamoja means together. Etana’s new album, Pamoja, is a wonderful reminder of the importance of togetherness and sharing a close bond with our loved ones. San Diego-based reggae artist Aaron Wolf spoke with Cygnill before his set at Viva Iriezona about his musical style, influences, and his 2021 single Create Positive. 

Portland, Oregon-based reggae band, Nine to Fyah has released its debut album, Age of Influence, and we are absolutely loving the album’s sound, message, and inspiring songs. Thousands of fans came together at the beautiful Waterfront Park in San Diego and the good vibes were contagious at San Diego Bayfest 2021. Bumpin Uglies’ latest single, Right & Clever is an epic song with a strong message. The band, which blends punk and reggae, sing, “Don’t do it for the money, don’t do it for the drugs. Do it for your pride and the people you love. Humanity is temporary but glory is forever. Through The Roots has dropped a cool new music video for the band’s song Paper Planes featuring Likkle Jordee. The music video was filmed in Hawaii and helps bring the song to life. Paper Planes is the eighth song on Through The Root’s 2020 album Departure.

KBong and Mike Love joined forces in an uplifting new song called Heal It and the duet is super inspiring. Cygnill caught up with Al at Viva Iriezona to talk about his art, how roots music influences his painting, and what it’s like being a live artist. He also talks about how life helped push him in the healing direction of art, starting with an accident when he was 30 years old.
