Age of Influence features eleven songs including three dub versions and as Connor George, the band’s bassist puts it, the emerging band fuses feel-good melodies to infectious reggae rhythms. This is such an on-point description! Dailyreggae.com caught up with Connor to learn more about the band, their inspiration, and the creative process behind creating Age of Influence.
Tell us about Nine to Fyah. We are loving your debut album, Age of Influence!
Our songs focus on opening the mind of listeners by infusing a positive message with socially conscious lyricism. We try to maintain a roots backbone, focusing on subjects of social justice and the betterment of society. We aim to bring people together from all walks of life and encourage our listeners to live in peace and harmony.
Our music is for anyone seeking a positive, conscious message. Regardless of your race, religion, ethnicity, gender, or class everyone is invited to our world. We hope to reach everyday people and raise their vibration by providing songs that soothe the mind, body, and soul. The goal is to leave listeners with a deeper level of awareness than before they listen to the track.
What inspired Age of Influence and what was the creative process like?
The album was inspired by the many life-altering events/issues facing society today. 2020 in many ways a year of conscious awakening. This album was fueled by this energy.
Our creative process includes writing together/recording our demos in our Portland Studio - then working with our producer E.N Young at the Imperial Sound Studio in San Diego. We are signed with Roots Musician Records out of SD as well and loved working with them every step of the way.
Come My Way by Nine to Fyah is the Daily Reggae song of the Day.
