Mike Love and Dub Inc share magical set at Berkeley’s Cornerstone

Mike Love and The Full Circle perform at Cornerstone in Berkeley, California, on June 9, 2022.

Last night, Mike Love and Dub Inc shared a magical set at Berkeley’s Cornerstone. The show was definitely up there with one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! Dub Inc started the night with their feel good and interactive set that inspired the audience to dance and groove. The France-based band have a special ability to connect with audiences and we loved feeling their passion. Speaking of passion, when you think of Mike Love, you think of one of the most passionate musicians in reggae music today. Mike’s set featuring his full Full Circle Band was like a reggae shredding clinic. Mike’s guitar skills are absolutely legendary and his deep song catalog was so nicely showcased.

Dub Inc is a very talented band and when you see them in-person, you easily see their decades long experience performing together. We loved their interaction that had fans singing along with Dub Inc’s two fantastic singers. The singers both compliment one another’s styles and having the opportunity to watch one of Europe’s best reggae bands in without a doubt one of the best San Francisco Bay Area music venues was a blast.

Speaking of experience, Mike Love’s experience as a performer is just as evident in the way he continues to elevate his live shows. Mike opened the show with his recent single with Rising Tide, “Together.” The theme of the song speaks to Mike’s vision for brining people together and encouraging his fans to live life to the fullest.

Mike is a true triple threat musician: a gifted songwriter, genre bending guitar player, and among the genres top vocalists.

Songs Mike Love played include “Be Thankful”, Medicine Man (new single with Rising Tide and Clinton Fearon), “Human Race”, “Promise Land” (from Mike’s Dubkonscious days), “I Love You”, “Jahwakening”, “These Are My Roots” (Mike’s take on the 2020 Cali Roots Riddim), “Let It Rain” and fan favorite, “Permanent Holiday.”

Ron Artis II came out to sing a song with Mike and the duo sounded amazing together. Let’s hope they team up and release a song soon!

There are still tour dates left, so grab your tickets and watch the magic unfold.

Be Thankful” by Mike Love is the Daily Reggae Song of the Day.
