Daily Reggae Album Review: Shwayze brings style and good vibes in “Shway SZN”

Shwayze is a true triple threat. What do I mean by that? He’s a talented singer, rapper, and songwriter. The combination of those three things is rare, and the singer-songwriter shines in his new album, “Shway SZN”. I love Shwayze’s ability to mix reggae, hip hop and pop into super fun songs that always bring good vibes.

Unforgettable” kicks the album off with an irie beat and Shwayze shows off his vocals and sexy lyrics that are heard throughout the record.

While “Unforgettable” has more of a hip hop feel, Shwayze’s collaboration with Dirty Heads in “Too Late” has a reggae rock feel. Dirty Heads lay down their patented picture perfect chorus lines and Shwayze plays so well off it in the verses.

When you listen to Shwayze a trip to the beach is always inspired and I love the artist’s collaboration with Pepper and Slightly Stoopid in “Tides”. This song releases so many good vibes into the airwaves. Pepper especially rocks it with their catchy hook.

I can imagine Shwayze and Claire Wright performing “Slice of Sunshine” with an acoustic guitar beachside. Shwayze is all about staying positive and good times and this is a really fun song. Wright is very talented and I love her voice and delivery.
