Italian reggae superstar Alborosie has been dropping amazing tracks for decades and the singer-songwriter’s latest album, “Destiny” is the culmination of Alborosie’s dedication to his craft.

In the 14 track album, Alborosie brilliantly shines light on important societal issues over a mix of top reggae, rock and dancehall riddims. The instrumentation in “Destiny” is superb and I especially love the use of horns, the vibing drum patterns, and listening to Alborosie’s creative and thoughtful lyrics.

This is an album that you’ll enjoy listening from start to finish, and I wanted to share five of my favorites songs!

We live in a society that focuses on attention and which often prioritizes content over living in the present, and Alborosie does an amazing job reminding us about the importance of pushing that to the side in “Viral”. The hook is powerful and I love how Alboroise kicks off the album with such a thought provoking track.

Teaming with Jaz Elise, Alborosie’s “Faith” is a soulful track with a bouncy riddim focusing on the importance of staying true to our beliefs. The collaboration with Elise is a perfect match and their vocals compliment one another so nicely.

Focus” is one of the album’s stand out tracks and I vibe with the horns and jamming bass line. Alborosie preaches a message of commitment, staying strong while reaching for our goals, while pushing any road blocks to the side.

Speaking of superstars, Alborosie and Kabaka Pyramid team up in the song, “Nah Sell Out”. I love the message about staying humble and on our grind. This is a big tune!

Slow down the pace with the love song, “I Got You”, which will certainly be a fun one to see at an upcoming Alborosie show.

“Destiny” is one of my favorite reggae albums of the year, and once again adds to Alborosie’s reggae legend status.
