Congratulations to EarthKry for being named the 2023 Daily Reggae Rising Artist of the Year! EarthKry is hands down one of the best reggae bands in the world and they are incredible representatives for today’s genre and Jamaica’s talented music industry.

A large number of jamming reggae EPs were released this year - many ranging from three to five tracks. A solid EP tells a story that has a listener on the edge of their seat, or at the very least maintains a compelling theme and feel throughout.

Reggae around the world: EarthKry is set to bring its amazing roots reggae music to Australia. EarthKry is one of the most talented reggae bands in the world and seeing them play in Australia would be so epic!

EarthKry continue the band’s jamming “Dandy Shandy Tour” via East Coast, Midwest, and Canada dates. As I’ve said before, EarthKry is one of the best reggae bands in the world, and are true global music ambassadors for Jamaica and reggae.

“The Plan” showcases Lucy Morningstar’s passion, musicianship and energy. Sometimes it’s hard to pinpoint what makes an artist stand out, but Morningstar really draws you into the track and will inspire you to listen to her catalog.

This Jamaican band is making some of the best roots reggae music in the world, and seeing them live turned me from a big fan into a huge fan! I had the chance to watch EarthKry at San Diego’s Blk Box Gallery, a really cool venue, and they were absolutely amazing!

Rik Jam and Janeel Mills inspire us to reach for the stars in “When My Time Comes”. The jamming single is an Irie Yute Tapes production and showcases the immense vocal talents of Jam and Mills! Irie Yute Tapes continues to make a huge name for the label and its founder Phillip McFarlane is proving himself as a true triple threat - artist (keyboardist for EarthKry), producer, and director. The single’s amazing music video shot by McFarlane was filmed in Houston and New York.

“Soon Come” is a great example of EarthKry releasing some of today’s best roots reggae music. Daily Reggae caught up with EarthKry’s Phillip McFarlane to learn about the song’s inspiration and heard the Jamaica-based band wrote the single on a recent tour. The new track has a beautiful riddim and an old school reggae feel in al the best ways possible. It will absolutely brighten your day!

Dalwayne and Irie Yutes Tapes recently dropped the single “Big Song” and the riddim produced and mixed by Phillip McFarlane is by far one of the best riddims of 2022. A riddim can make a song and McFarlane showcases his extreme talent creating one of the most intricate riddims I’ve ever heard with so many cool layers.

Gonzo (Ryan Gonzo) is a great example of the phenomenal talent in today’s reggae community. His contribution to the genre is huge - from his time in Fortunate Youth, years as one of Tribal Seeds’ core members, and his dedication to consistently releasing amazing solo work. Gonzo’s new album, “Downtown Swing” shines a light on his one of a kind voice and ability to write simple yet beautiful reggae love songs.

Jamaica’s EarthKry kicks off the band’s See You Again Tour tomorrow at the Dallas Reggae Festival! The tour is a great opportunity to see this incredible reggae band. The 17 show tour will hit cities in Texas, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Colorado, and California. We love EarthKry’s roots rock reggae sound and irie songs.

New Mexico’s Tico Time Reggae Fest features reggae stars Black Uhuru, Etana, Collie Buddz, and Dezarie. The four-day and night camping reggae music festival kicks off on May 19th and according to the festival producer, Rasta Stevie Smith features a new, adventurous venue located in Aztec, New Mexico. If you’re looking for an opportunity to explore the four corners and take in a weekend of awesome reggae music Tico Time looks like a blast!
