It’s still summertime in Dallas, and that means blazing high temps are sticking around, but that doesn’t stop the touring musician! San Diego native and beach-vibe extraordinaire, Skyler Lutes, cruised his way from the west coast to the live music saturated neighborhood of Deep Ellum, Texas to spread a little Cali sunshine with local reggae outfit, Burning Slow.

The venue, a beautiful corner spot amongst the heart of Deep Ellum’s most active area, is known as Will Call Bar and was our home for the night. Frontman Matthew Brodeur and the boys from Burning Slow popped the cork on the show, warming the place up as the drinks were cooling folks down.

After their high-energy set of Texas-born reggae, (I was sweat-soaked from dancing so much!) Skyler Lutes made his way up front and we were transported from Dallas to So-Cal after a few strums of his guitar. Lutes played his heart out and gave us such a good show, and I’m fairly certain the smile he started with never left his face the entire set.

I sang and grooved all night, snapped a few pics when I remembered to, and had a wonderful night hanging with good friends. Lutes is in the middle of his multi-state tour, making his way through Arizona, Cali, and Nevada next. Get out there and catch a date!
