Malawi’s Mr Acton shares a message of peace and love in “Sweet Reggae Music”.

Daily Reggae caught up the African artist to learn more about the song’s inspiration, his influences, and reggae in Malawi.

We are loving “Sweet Reggae Music”. Tell us more about the riddim!

Sweet Reggae Music is a song from the riddim titled Anointed Riddim under Malawian label, Coolpro Entertainment with various artists from four African countries: Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Malawi as well.

What is the song’s inspiration?

The song is letting people know the sweetness of reggae music but there is a hidden message behind the song.

We have to know where we are coming from and our way of life (roots and culture).

Let's come together and listen to sweet reggae music. It simply means let's come together and share peace and love regardless of the color of our skin or nationality.

Is reggae popular in Malawi?

Little by little we are trying our best to make a change; we have huge amount of international and local reggae events.

Though competition is very high as the urban music is always there trying to assimilate the generations, but still reggae is there with established support and reggae no dead. Ask Burning Spear.
