Eureka Sound releases single Do Good featuring Nick Sefakis
Southern California-based reggae band, Eureka Sound, released a new single titled Do Good featuring Iya Terra guitarist, Nick Sefakis, on March 5, 2021.
We are loving the song, which highlights Eureka Sound’s unique sound bringing together roots reggae, and jazz. The catchy horn woodwind, and guitar work especially catch our ears!
Sefakis contributes his smooth vocals that we are used to listening to in Iya Terra songs and in his debut solo album, Foundation. Eureka Sound’s David Yun played guitar on a couple of songs on the Foundation album. (Editor’s note: Read Dailyreggae.com’s artist profile featuring Nick).
We asked Ryan from Eureka Sound about the inspiration and recording process behind the song.
“I wrote this one as a reminder to myself to be good to everyone any chance I get. It rooted from past experiences I wish I handled with more love and understanding, but also realizing it’s all a part of the journey to self and divine love,” said Ryan Kordich. “The tune was written about two years ago in my garage. It started out with some splice drum samples and a chord progression I wrote on my keys. Then one day when Dave and I went to Nick’s place for one of our regular writing and recording sessions, I asked what he thought about the tune and if he’d be down to be featured on it. Nick loved it and told me he’d write something for it that week. Over the next year or so we ended up recording all of our parts at our own houses since studio time was limited with the pandemic going on. We linked in Big G Productions for a solid mix and master and shortly after the tune was finished and ready for the world to hear!”
When asked about the collaboration, Nick Sefakis said, “I always learn a lot from working with Ryan and David They’re really talented young musicians, genuine people, and have bright futures.”
