Dillon Pakele and Jordan T carry the heart of Hawaii in “From The Islands”.

The laid back tune will have you grooving and singing along by the hook! Daily Reggae caught up with Pakele to learn about the song’s inspiration and collaboration with Jordan T!

“I wrote this song back in college when I was home in Hawaii for the Christmas break ... and when it was time to go back to school in Nebraska... I felt home sick and on the plane ride back, I wrote this song because I wanted to express how much I'm gonna miss home and what I'm gonna miss about it and I wanted to share that with everyone back at my school.”

He added, “I had this song on the back burner for a while ... never was actually planning on releasing it until the company, Waiakea, which I'm actually an ambassador for, wanted me to do a song, and I pitched them this song and they loved it!

They loved it so much that they actually produced all of it ... and they also where the ones that connected me to Jordan T ... so if it wasn't for waiakea … I don't think I would've ever released this song so big ups to them  forever grateful for the faith they had/have in me.”

I really love this collaboration and think it would be so cool if these two Hawaiin artists teamed up on more songs in the future!
