Bob Marley: One Love is one of my all time favorite movies

So much of my love of music comes from my Uncle Jim and going through his music collection including Bob Marley & The Wailers, and I’ve been hooked on reggae ever since.

The Bob Marley: One Love film is one of my all time favorite movies and makes me so proud to be a reggae music fan!

I loved the film’s opening message by Bob’s son, Ziggy Marley about how close him and the Marley family were to the movie’s creation. That was such a cool message to start out with.

The film’s story, acting and visuals were incredible and take the viewer on a journey showing important moments from Marley’s inspiring life.

Bob’s music brought and continues to bring people together to unify even when there are difference of opinions.

You feel this so strongly during Marley’s Smile Jamaica Concert when times of violence and political ups and downs were overwhelming. Marley used his guitar, words and microphone to bring peace and hope.

Throughout the movie you’ll hear classic Bob Marley songs and in a different light. I loved the insights they gave like the moments in time a classic Marley tune was created!

Also, the love and strong bond between Marley and Rita Marley was a beautiful part of the film.

Some of my favorite songs featured in the film are No Woman, No Cry, War / No More Trouble, Natural Mystic, and Redemption Song.

Speaking of songwriting and Natural Mystic, part of the movie takes you to London with Marley. The London journey chronicles his band’s coming together even stronger and the writing of Exodus, one of the best albums of all time.

Marley’s imagination and vision made him one of music’s best creators and his songs are timeless. Like a valley the film shows the ups and downs of life and an honest look into Marley’s life.

Marley returns to Jamaica and lives his life to make music for the people.

Thank you, Bob for making this world a better and more connected place.

One Love!
