Tropidelic’s Royal Grove kicked up the summer heat!

Jeremy Morgan of Highly Decent Photography is back to review one of the hottest records of the summer, Royal Grove by Tropidelic.

Trop is known for infusing a few key styles in their mix over the years, developing a uniquely dynamic flavor to their sound while never laying dormant, expecting the same-old-thing to keep the train rolling.

Royal Grove  exemplifies the musical abilities within the group to continually create fresh new tunes that initiate the finest rhythmic body movements.

Smooth grooves, lyrical domination and coherent storylines add further depth to the enjoyment across all tracks, and solidifies a catchiness that can’t be shaken easily.

My top track picks start with the opening slot; “Affirmations (with Tobyraps)” ensures you enter this album with a correct state of mind, reminding you we are all in the same fight together, and we got this! The very next track continues the mental pursuit of happiness in the form of shutting haters down.

Ever got off work and just wanted some peace and quiet in that 4 to 5 o’clock evening hour? “Ease Up” is your jam… trust me.

Alas, the one tune I can’t seem to stop spinning is “Ride”. For me, it’s an anthem for that beautiful sunny Sunday that falls together effortlessly, and ends with good friends, good food and great music.

Summer perfection.

This has easily become one of my favorite albums this year by a veteran band I’ve grown to love more with every release. There’s a lot of feel-good in there waiting to be let out.

Tropidelic is currently touring relentlessly across the states promoting Royal Grove, so go catch a show near you and support the scene (and as always, buy all their merch too!)
