Find your happy place and put all the BS behind with Artikal Sound System’s “Are You Smiling Yet?”

Artikal Sound System comes out swinging with the release of the band’s sophomore album, “Are You Smiling Yet?” blending reggae, rock and pop in a refreshing sound that punches attitude yet can calm you down.

Logan Rex showcases her superb vocals throughout the 13 track LP by singing easy to relate to lyrics that will have you head banging and chilling all at once.

Take the album’s title track for example, Rex reminds us to keep smiling even through the peaks and valleys.

When things get maybe too real pain can come on quickly and the band brings this feeling to life with a punk rock feel in “Self-Sabotage”. Artikal Sound System is crossing genres and bringing new rock fans to the reggae genre and this track exemplifies that. 

“Get Me Out” is one of the album’s stand out tracks. Rex highlights her star power and big time voice over some rocking chords. Everyone can relate to needing a change and new energy and this tune brings this emotion to life. Radio stations please add this to your rotation asap!

Slow down the pace with Artikal’s “Here”. I love the song’s meditative quality and self reflection on growth and acceptance of new roads.

I had the chance to see the band play Cali Vibes last year and their live sets are rad! I’d love to hear them play “Solid Stone”. They do a great job of mixing up the pace in this track that reminds us to follow something natural instead of forced.

“Sympathetic Scenery” pairs Rex’s soulful vocals with some lovely accoustic guitar. The song sends a message to put our best foot forward and have faith that everything will work out fine.

Artikal Sound System took a big leap with this album and it’s paying off major dividends. The rockers are turning nationwide through hard work and grit. Thanks for making us smile!
