EP Review: Multi-Instrumentalist Justin Vidal impresses with his rocking new EP, “Love What You Have”
One of the things we love about the global reggae music scene and covering it at Daily Reggae is that we are constantly on the hunt to discover new music, and the amount of talent on the reggae scene is incredible! Last year, we connected with Southern California’s Justin Vidal, a talented multi-instrumentalist, who has released a rocking new EP titled, “Love What You Have”. We are absolutely loving this four track EP that has Vidal showing us a glimpse into his heart and a strong view into his talent as a musician.
Justin writes super catchy grooves, and his songwriting in on point. In “Leave It All Behind” he writes about rocky times and leaving bad vibes behind. It’s our first glimpse into Vidal’s epic guitar solos that are featured throughout the EP. Vidal collaborated with Brian Meredith on this particular solo.
We love the production on “Just Another Rainy Day” and the irie horn section. Vidal’s vocals and songwriting chops are spotlighted in this jam. Vidal reminds us to push away negative feelings and only to settle for positivity.
The EP’s title tack, “Love What You Have” offers an important message to look on the bright side and to be thankful for what we have. It’s a beautiful song and once again leaves us impressed by Vidal’s abilities as a songwriter, musician and producer.
We’re ready for Vidal’s full album, but in the meantime, we’ll be turning “Love What You Have” up!
“Just Another Rainy Day” by Justin Vidal is the Daily Reggae Song of the Day.
