aurorawave have taken reggae rock to new heights in the band’s self-titled debut album.

The reggae rockers led by former Iya Terra frontman, Nathan Aurora are pioneering a new reggae rock meets heavy metal sound, and the end result is magical!

Aurora is one of reggae rock’s hardest working artists and the sweat and tears of bringing this album to life were well worth the fight as it absolutely shreds!

Whether you’re a rock or reggae fan, this album is for you and highlights Aurora and the up-and-coming band’s passion, musicianship, and all around positive energy.

Let’s start with the band’s opening track, “MEANT TO BE.”.

Aurora sings about being thankful for life’s journey and focusing on the present. His vocals shine over a rocking beat that brings a reggae feel while empowering us to stay true to ourselves even if it means taking a step back and reinventing ourselves.

“INFERNO.” feautring Brandon Saller and Dan Jacobs of Atreyu shows off aurorawave’s fiery energy and heavy metal feel. This is such a unique track, and I love it’s message of staying ready and emerging stronger even when many obstacles face us. You hear the band’s guitar shreadding and a head nodding drum pattern. This is the perfect pump up song to get your body moving!

The vibes cool down in “STRATOSPHERE.”, a reflective song about following your dreams and path even when others might not see things the way you do.

The band is so locked in and I love the togetherness you feel in this tune. Tanner Arebalo does his thing on drums! Mike Mocerino brings so much creativty on guitar while complimenting fellow shredder, Aurora. And Ray Worrick lays down grooving bass lines throughout the 13 track LP!

One of the album’s most unique tracks is the heavy metal meets reggae rock tune, “BOILING POINT.”, another innovative tune from Aurora’s heart featuring The Ghost Inside.

What’s so cool about this song is you really hear the passion and aurorawave is seamlessly blending these genres. It doesn’t feel forced at all. If you’ve had a long day and need to get some stress out then turn this song on and feel everything melt away.

Aurora has an amazing voice and you hear it so well in “SEE YOU AROUND.”

This is a more traditional reggae rock song about constant change and accepting the ups and downs while enjoying what’s in front of us. What a beautiful song! The instrumentation and production is next level and I’m so vibing with that bass line.

Another song that makes me super happy is “LIFE.” featuring fellow genre blender, Surfer Girl.

The song is another track about finding balance through the windy roads we have to navigate. I really love the way Aurora and Carter Reeves compliment each other’s vocals and would applaud a collaborative EP between the two groups in the future. Thanks for helping us surf those waves fellas!

“BACKGROUND NOISE.” brings together aurorawave and Satsang in a reggae rock meets hip hop vibe.

I love the song’s bouncy riddim, and it’s message to push away negativity. We each control our energy and the song is a great reminder to focus on what matters most to us.

One of the album’s stand out tracks is “NO LOVE LOST.”, which is another head banger about putting it all on the line. This is one of those jams that fans are going to love seeing the band perform live. Speaking of which, I cannot wait to see aurorawave perform soon!

Congrats to the band on recently completing their first tour; aruorwave’s future is so bright!

Change is never easy, but hard work always makes a transition smooth. Major props to Nathan Aurora and aurorawave for their impressive growth and commitment. “TRUST & BELIEVE.” tells a story about the band’s laser focus on creating music they love to play, and we love every note and strum!
