Album Review: Signal Fire impresses and inspires moving in a positive light in “Rhythm of Life”
Signal Fire’s latest album “Rhythm of Life” is an inspiring 10 track body of work with amazing songwriting, instrumentation and good vibes. The North Carolina-based reggae rock band gives us strength in difficult times and sends messages of positivity.
The band teams with reggae superstar, Jesse Royal in the opening track, “Crucial Times”. The song has such an irie bass line and is a great reminder to focus on those close to us and to push away useless distractions. I love hearing Royal on this track and his line about hunger for change for the next generation!
The drum slows down and a beautiful sax comes in on “First Light”. Signal Fire’s sounds is so relaxing and brings amazing mediation. This is the perfect song to bring calm as you start your day. The band’s lead singer and guitarist, Sean Gregory is a talented songwriter and vocalist and this song brings all the feels in the best way.
I love the jamming keys in “Cool & Easy”. Signal Fire collabs with The Hip Abduction on the tune. Sometimes the most simple songs are the most powerful and I’m totally feeling this jam about taking it slow.
J. Sales flows on “Change” a cool song about being ok with new things. It takes courage to make changes and Signal Fire reminds us to keep our faith.
The album’s title track “Rhythm of Life” adds an electronic beat and pushes us to put love into the world. Sean’s delivery is nice and I really like the reggae guitar.
“Shapes of Home” brings out Signal Fire’s island sound. It’s such a mellow love song!
I had never listened to Signal Fire before but this album made me an instant fan. The band wraps the album with the song “Rain Must Fall” another poetic reminder that sunnier days are ahead!
