Album Review: Dive into the magic of Rebelution through “Reflections”

Eric Rachmany is one of the best guitarists across all musical genres and his talent as a musician and performer has elevated Rebelution to the top of the reggae genre.

When Rachmany and the band brought in Kyle Ahern as a guitarist, the band got even stronger and we are witnessing reggae rock in its best form. The California reggae rockers have released the gorgeous new acoustic album, “Reflections” and it immediately brings you into the magic and healing power of Rebelution’s music.

The album kicks off with “Hate to Be the One”, a fan favorite off the band’s 2014 album, “Count Me In”. Rachmany and Ahern show off their strings skills with an epic intro that’s over one minute along. Rebelution is a rare band that sounds just as good playing acoustic as they do electric and their unique roots reggae sound always brings the good vibes we love!

I love Wes Finley’s catchy percussion throughout the album that perfectly pairs with Rachmany and Ahern’s guitar riffs and irie bass line, especially in “Lay My Claim”. The guitar solo is so epic!

Good Day” is one of my favorite Rebelution songs and once again the band adds an epic intro that fans and new listeners will appreciate and vibe to. Rebelution’s music catalog is so well rounded and Rachmany’s talent as a songwriter and lyricist is so easy to hear when listening to these acoustic versions.

Two songs from the band’s 2016 album, “Falling into Place”, “Mirage” and “Those Days” are brought together into one with a super smooth transition. I think Rachmany and Mike Love execute transitions the best in the genre!

Settle Down Easy” is one of the most thoughtful and catchy songs that I’ve ever heard and this new acoustic version is fantastic! You’ll be singing song by the second verse if not sooner, I promise.

Another fan favorite, “Pretty Lady” is brought to life with a fresh take courtesy of Rebelution’s guitar chops. Perfect for any stroll, drive home or date night!

Notice Me” blends reggae, rock and pop music in the perfect recipe and is yet another reminder that Rebelution writes and releases some of the most powerful love-filled songs around.

This was such a fun listen and I cannot wait to hear Rebelution and the humble yet amazingly talented Eric Rachmany, Kyle Ahern, and Wes Finley play these tracks on the road with the full band this summer!
