Morgan Heritage’s new 21 song album, “The Homeland”, is a magnificent reggae music masterpiece. Throughout the album, you will smile, feel love and be taken by the band’s talent as storytellers. I decided to pick six of my favorite songs to reflect on in this review, but make sure to take to the time to dive into the album even deeper.

Jam out to Roots of Creation and Mighty Mystic’s “Roots of Creation” Acoustic Mix. I always vibe with Roots of Creation and their sweet jam style reggae music.

Colorado reggae rockers, Luna Shade help our worries fade away in new single, “Lay Down” ft. Amanda Juline. This song is a straight jam, and the vocals of Luna Shade’s Andrew Ricci paired with Juline are so calming.

Reggae meets hip hop in Buju Banton’s “High Life” ft. Snoop Dogg. The legendary artists teamed in this irie single released via Roc Nation Records / Gargamel Music / Def Jam Recordings. You will absolutely love the track's riddim and laid back flows of Buju and Snoop.

Slightly Stoopid has officially announced the 9th annual Closer to the Sun concert vacation! With big names such as Stick Figure, Dirty Heads, Common Kings, The Movement and so many more, this is definitely a can’t miss trip. In partnership with Cloud 9 Adventures, the event takes place at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya, an all-inclusive resort on the coast of Mexico, for four days and nights from December 7-11, 2023.

Paul Fox and FireVerse shine light on social injustices in “World We Living In”. Fox is a UK-based singer-songwriter, who is about to drop a new album, and is using his voice to call for action on important issues.

Alific celebrates the little things in “Every Reason” ft. Aaron Wolf. The track is dreamy, features cool effects and I appreciate the artist’s positive message about keeping your head up through the ups and downs.

Stephen Marley releases the beautiful and retrospective “Old Soul” via Tuff Gong Collective/UMe/Ghetto Youths International. The wonderful acoustic driven track is made even more powerful by the touching visuals including never-before-seen photos, album covers, and a collage of Jamaican music history. Coachella Weekend two is here! For those of us not lucky enough to be physically in the valley, you can still livestream all your favorite acts on the Coachella Youtube pages. They have the schedules and channels listed online, but please note the times are listed in Pacific! Rebelution kicks off at 3pm Pacific on the Outdoor stage and Stick Figure performs at the same time and place on Sunday.

J.Lately and Lot 49 connect hip hop and reggae in the good vibe filled track, “Shouldn’t Do”. This is the perfect song to get your next pre game or party started. I love the Lot 49 reggae hook and J.Lately’s hip hop flow on the verses.

Turn up at the Mammoth Reggae Festival 2023 with big time reggae artists like Eli Mac, The Elovaters and Arise Roots. The 13th Annual Mammoth Reggae Festival will be held July 21 - 23, 2023 and feature top talent reggae musicians like Pacific Dub, Inna Vision, Eureka Sound, and Kyle Smith.

Can’t make it to Coachella? Get your Joshua Tree fix with Gede’s “Where Two Deserts Meet”. Armed with a laptop, poncho, and Splice, Gede headed out to Joshua Tree to create an album that captured the feeling invoked by the awe-inspiring landscape. Over the course of 4 days, this instrumental album was created.

Reggae Roast and Horace Andy urge unity in “Lets Live In Love”. You will absolutely feel this roots heavy track and the uplifting riddim. The single was released by Reggae Roast Records and according to a release the single, “carries a positive message of unity, urging people to come together and live in love, a message the world truly needs, in these times of war and division.” Respect!

St. Louis band, InTheSea showcase heavy hitting sound in their debut EP. This is my first time listening to the reggae rockers and their sound is silky smooth.

Start your night by jamming along with Skip Marley’s “Jane (The Remixes)” featuring Ayra Starr and Sam Deep. Skip and Starr’s original track is so chill and vibey, and hearing more of an electric and grooving take with Deep’s mix is such a relaxed feel.
