Bikini Trill fans will recognize that Shokkayo also did the artwork and animation for the music video “F*cked Up ft Blessed.

Portland’s Mikey Dub blends modern Sound System Dub and classic Roots Reggae, and I’m vibing with his single, “Dub Calling”. The musician is a talented dub producer, and it’s really cool to hear about his musical influences.

Don Dada inspires self-improvement and coming together in “One For Another”. The South African reggae artist also blends his hip hop influence in the inspiring track released by RuFF CuTT Studio. Dada collaborated Bernard “Touter” Harvey and Delroy Thompson on the single’s production.

Groove to Med Dred and Shaky Norman’s “Forward Melodicas”! This track is so irie and relaxing. I always enjoying listening to the melodica in reggae music and these two virtuosos share so many positive vibes.

Today’s featured piece is the Bayfest Blue Icon Hat. This sleek, striking blue hat is from our favorite San Diego reggae festival “Bayfest”. This year’s event will take place on July 8 and features Damian Marley, Common Kings, Koffee, DENM and more.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Marley family as they remember and celebrate the life of Jo Mersa Marley, son of Stephen Marley and grandson of Bob Marley. Tune in this Sunday, March 12 as Tuff Gong Radio celebrates the eternal earthstrong of @jomersamarley 

This edition of Song of the Week is “Revolution” by Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad ft The Movement. Featuring a fiery bridge by Josh Swain of The Movement, the track has a fun but gritty groove with catchy hook that sure to get you pumped.

“Low Sun” by Buddahfly has us jamming through winter into summer! The Boston area reggae rockers cool down the pace in the best way possible and inspire sunshine and positivity all year round.

While every great festival must come to an end, and although we have reached the final day of Cali Vibes 2023, I still had a full day of great artists ready to please the ears of thousands awaiting me.

Today’s feature is Jack Johnson’s In Between Dub Tangerine Vinyl. The album will bring together some of Johnson’s favorite recordings and it will be super fun hearing fan favorites with a dub spin.

Istanbul’s Bosphoroots highlights the importance of peace in “Hayal”. Reggae’s power is felt worldwide, and it’s super fun listening to Bosphoroots’ music. This single is powerful! You can feel the band’s emotions and strongly hear their talent.

Take a trip along “The Scenic Route” with Glenn Holdaway and Liam Robertson. I am absolutely loving this single’s funk and all around vibe! Holdaway is one of the most talented trumpet players on the reggae scene today. Daily Reggae asked about the song’s reggae influence and he gave a legendary response!
